Innovating With Purpose

It came to me in the middle of the night - and I was so excited about it I couldn't wait to share it with everybody in my life.

Mother May I was a game I played with my neighborhood friends when I was young. Heck, it wasn't just my friends; it was a game a lot of us played when we were kids. But that particular night the game occurred to me in a much different way.

It came down to a simple idea: action = change.

I realized then that our team of Producers, Designers and Technologists at Adjacent To One - a team that is passionate about creating world-class and world-changing digital experiences - could play a big part in changing the world.  And who better to do that with than those who brought us into the world  - MOMs! That's how Mother May I was born.

A friend texted me on Friday morning as we were busy readying for our weekend launch and asked me what I was getting out of working on Mother May I. I realized in that moment how hard it is to quantify. Mother May I has given me so much, even before our official launch.

My team and I have met with Moms from around the world; Moms who are giving even more than they already have to make the world a better place. We chose a lucky few of those Moms and their social change projects to launch the platform with, and to work side-by-side with, lending our expertise to build and grow their projects through digital means.

Mother May I is helping me look at the world through a much different lens. It is helping me realize the scale with which we can effect change in the world.  It is also energizing and transforming our team at Adjacent To One before my eyes.

Truth be told, the biggest thing it has given me is an opportunity to reconnect with my Mom and to give her a very special Mother's Day gift this year. So, happy Mother's Day Mom! You mean the world to me...

Now, what can we do for Father's Day? Team?
